With a passion for people, language and culture, Yvonne found her ideal niche in the language industry. Being bilingual at a young age came naturally as she grew up in Germany as the child of an American father and a German mother. Yvonne earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Zoology at the University of North Carolina. After travels throughout Europe, she returned to the U.S. to begin her career in languages. Her in depth knowledge of the localization industry was successfully honed before she founded TransNation Translations, Inc. in the spring of 2002.
Born in Seattle and raised in Indianapolis, Hannah is a trilingual translator and project manager with extensive professional experience.
Hannah graduated from the Indianapolis Lawrence Township K-12 Spanish Immersion program as a fully bilingual speaker of English and Spanish. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature (with a concentration in Spanish and French literary translation) from Oberlin College. She also spent six months studying at universities in Spain and France, honing her language skills and cultural knowledge.
Hannah has worked in language project management for over seven years and in the translation and interpretation fields for almost a decade. She is a PMI-certified project manager, a CHI-certified Spanish medical interpreter, and an ATA member working towards certification in the Spanish>English and French>English language pairs.
When not at her desk, Hannah loves to travel, hike through Indiana’s state parks, and curl up with a good novel next to Marvin, her gregarious orange tabby.
Kate (Ekaterina) Avdeeva possesses extensive professional knowledge and expertise in translation, interpretation, localization software testing, and evaluating educational credentials.
Upon graduation from the State Linguistic University in her home country, she joined an innovative and scientifically oriented company, promoting its products internationally. To develop her understanding of international business, she moved to Canada for one year of study and work.
When she immigrated to the US, Kate joined a boutique translation and credential evaluation agency providing various services uniquely tailored to suit the needs of individual clients. To improve her interpretation skills, Kate attended a local college. She then used these skills in support of her community, providing related services to hospitals, the immigration office, schools, and social services meetings. Kate is also a qualified court interpreter.
Before joining TransNation Translations, Kate was a team member with the US largest localization company, testing software products produced by the world industry leader in the search. She also served for four years as a board member and volunteer with the Colorado Translators Association.
When not at her desk, you may find Kate in yoga class, on a tennis court, or when the snow flies, shredding the slopes of the nearest ski resort.
